General Objective
The general objective of this project is to prepare new, sustainable, titania nanoarchitectures appropriate for self-cleaning coatings, that can be used in air cleaning and advanced wastewater treatment.
Specific Objectives
-
Establishing reproducible methods for the synthesis of C–doped, N–doped and C,N–co-doped TiO2 with Visible light response through band gap narrowing;
 -
Optimizing the preparation conditions of conjugated polymer–TiO2 and ferrite–TiO2 systems in order to lower the band gap energy and enhance a photo-response in the visible domain, but also to minimize the particle agglomeration and charge recombination;
 -
Comparing the two proposed thin films deposition methods and establishing the appropriate technique for different supports;
 -
Checking the end-use properties of the optimized materials and films.
